Army General Nicolae Tudor, who was in charge of the defense of the Television Station from 22 December 1989, made an important announcement on 23 December 1989 on Romanian Television.  I have been able to find the transcript of what he said below from the transcripts of Radio Bucharest.  Notably, in the 4 hour plus tapes claiming to have the entirety of what was broadcast on TVR during these days, the vast majority of it is from 22/23 December and it appears this announcement and many other clips are not available on the Internet.  I found the following from what appears to be clips of the live broadcast of TV Novi Sad of the former Yugoslavia (fellow researchers:  if you use this, it is only fair you give me credit, because this is an unusual and hardly straightforward find).  I will return to discuss Tudor’s statement at another time.
