Virgil Iatica: “On December 28, I was directly involved in the arrest of some members of the Securitate in Strada Cugir [Timisoara]…in Blocks 69,70, and 79…Securisti [had] arrived by night and took various things away…their flats were full of ammunition”

Long-lost from my graduate school (early-mid 1990s), Ph.D. dissertation archives, from the East European Reporter, 1990, p. 33. It is unclear, exactly which issue, perhaps spring/summer or fall 1990, but it is clearly 1990. The story of Virgil Iatica who wrote a letter to EER, parts of which they published as “Shattered Dreams.” Iatica left in disgust “As I was being threatened by the Securitate again, I left Romania on January 28 [1990]”…
